Gremlins Critique (Must See)

original review

Plot. A bizarre but endearing pet called Gizmo is given to Billy Peltzer as a Christmas present, and in doing so, he unintentionally breaches three essential laws of care for a Mogwai, resulting in the (published here) release of an army of mischievous Gremlins on the town.

Long before R-rated horror films began self-censoring in order to get a PG-13 classification and appeal to a broader audience, the PG-13 rating did not exist. Nonetheless, there were horror films developed with the express purpose of stretching the PG classification to its limits... and to that end, we have Gremlins. Gremlins is a Spielberg film directed by Joe Dante about adorable and fluffy tiny balls of death, misery, and dread. Family entertainment at its finest!
